Preview
Bombers coach James Hird has finally got his forward line back on the paddock with Stuart Crameri, Scott Gumbleton and Michael Hurley all taking the field together. With firepower like that, the bombers finally have enough avenues to goal to kick a winning score.
Traditionally, the Bombers and Roos have never liked each other much and this Sunday’s encounter will be no different. Maybe it’s because Nth Melbourne has always viewed Essendon players as spoilt and never really appreciated what they have. Before the upgrade to facilities at Arden St, some local EDFL clubs had better working conditions than the Roos. Yet, they continually played in Prelimary and Grand Finals – kudos to them.
As for the Bombers, did someone say marshmallows? Who will ever forget that description given to the bombers after the Roos inflicted misery on them, time and time again throughout the nineties. Essendon did inflict their own revenge, who could forget Round 16, 2001. Essendon came from 69pts down to stun the football world and beat the Roos. Still to this day, that margin remains the greatest comeback of all time!!
With both teams desperate to remain in the top eight, the winner would almost cement a spot in the 2012 Finals.
Prediction
Bombers by 30pts.....
